Why some Sega Mega Drive / Genesis games don't work on certain console Bios & Six Button controller
39Are you getting a black screen when inserting your Sega Mega Drive or Genesis cartridge? Does the game not work with your six button controller? Well you might want to watch this video before you do anything, as you might find your problem or issue is one of the many quirks of the classic Sega 16 bit system. As Randomised Gaming take a look at some of the little known problems you can discover and run into, so no don't throw anything away.
This video looks at the TradeMark Security System (TMSS) included in later MD1 and all MD2 models that blocks unlicensed games from running and a few official games that don't work with the TMSS. We also look at how to get around this problem with the Game Genie. We also look at the PAL game Jimmy White's 'Whirlwind' Snooker which can only be played on a NTSC Mega Drive / Genesis with a game genie.
The we look at the issues seen in both the Six Button joypad and the Infrared Arcade remote controller. With games like Forgotten World and Golden Axe II and how you can fix some of this issues with the mode button on the wired six button controller.
Finally we take a quick look at the infamous recalled PAL Mega CD The Lawnmower Man and something called the Sega Channel which most Europeans have never heard of, but did you know it got released in 1996 over here?
