A new Zelda game is a generation-defining event, and with the latest entry Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo have truly outdone themselves, and delivered a masterpiece that will endure for generations to come. In the 40+ hours I’ve spent with the game, I’ve had one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had in the gaming medium, and find myself unable to tear myself away from the TV. While at work or in my dreams, my thoughts have been endlessly consumed by this game, in a way I haven’t felt since I was a child. In this spoiler-free review, I’ll detail why Tears of the Kingdom is a masterpiece, how it improves upon Breath of the Wild, and why it is one of, if not the, greatest game ever made.
