Victoria 3 is the newest Paradox Interactive Game, set to release October 25th. However, the game from what I have seen just appears unpolished and unready for the large singleplayer and multiplayer experience. I feel that like Imperator Rome, VIC3 could fall into a decline, and remain an unsuccessful release for paradox. It could be that the game is modified with future dlc, but in it's current state it appears that it will not live up to the hype.

Title: Why VIC3 Could Flop
Topics: Discussing Victoria 3 and how it's current gamestate on launch is lackluster and may lead to it being a flop.

Video Script:
Victoria 3 is a new and highly anticipated Paradox Interactive Grand Strategy Game set to release Tuesday October 25th. Unfortunately, with the recent lifting of the embargo on the game, I have to say from what I have seen I feel as if it will underperform on paradox’s expectations and the fanbases over 10 year wait from Victoria 2. Why would I say this you may ask, a couple of very crucial reasons that make vic3 more like Imperator on launch and less like ck3.
To start with the first factor I wish to look at is AI or the lack there of, ai nations in vic3 tend to mismanage their economy or at least that I have seen, poorly and randomly building and constantly falling into large scale civil wars, a change from VIC2 which had individual rebel units spawn. It seems that the game is just to easy for a semicomptent player in single player, not to mention unstable in multiplayers for more than 3 or 4 players, alongside no in-game chat MP Chat.
On the note of multiplayer one of the most crucial aspects for the old vic2 was war, and even though the system was not great, it allowed for some in depth mp diplomacy and situtations that could be worked out by players not by zerg rushed frontlines, where you have no control over the poorly built autobattler which was been alluded to by the devs that it will be changed through later dlc. The war system I have to say is sufficiently lacking for single player as well, especially in the late game where your ai allies with randomly charge the front against machine guns and will get mowed down and vice versa for you against the ai. The system seems poorly made and on top of that the ai seem to barely understand it.
I will say there is some good poking out from the game, the economy system including trade and some of the buildings work quite well. I like how countries markets function, however the loss of the capitalist mechanic and decisions between who constructs your country from vic2 is a big a one and greatly changes the dynamic of the game. While the journal entry system does allow for some interesting agency, it is significantly lacking for almost every nation in the game, especially for places like South America or Asia which I imagine will be filled in one of the many DLC in the coming years. The game also lacks some major railroading, which can make it unstable around the world. This means that for example the US never gets its proper border with Mexico or Canada, the American civil war goes hywire, China seems to have like the US civil war the heavenly kingdom just randomly spawning throughout the nation, many times coexisiting with China, while Japan is extremely inactive the whole game failing to ever rise up to challenge neighboring nations. Maybe this is the problem across the game, in that the AI Is super passive, if the player is in an area you can usually roll over the ai with minimal impacts or effort, while the ai itself rarely does something when just simulating the game.
Overall, it is not that I wanted to have these opinions, I have thousands of hours in VIC2, EU4, CK3, HOI4, but at launch VIC3 feels just underpolished, unready for a large amount of the singleplayer experience and especially lacking for multiplayer with its missing chat, poorly run servers and lack of proper interesting war. I would recommend waiting and see how the games plays out instead of buying right away. Sincerely, WonderProductions.
