Welcome to the brutal lands of Wild Terra Online. Here you will find dangerous bears, plenty of gathering nodes and random godsends filled with recipes needed to unlock new crafting opportunities. Claim your land by placing a dominion, fortify it with walls and build up a small hovel into a mighty fortress with the help of others. You can also lay waste to other player's territory or wait for their dominion to disappear from inactivity and loot it while they are offline. Either way, it is a kill or be killed environment.

Thankfully, there are PvE servers to sidestep most of the grief you will find on PvP servers, where players can destroy your walls while you are offline and ransack your stashes. The only leeway is from the low population count that might increase now that the game is out of Early Access. This is a game you don't want to be playing alone due to the high demand of resources needed to get anywhere.

Crafting and gathering take up the bulk of this adventure with most of your time spent going out to chop wood and mine ore while your stations produce the goods (in a time allotment decreed by the station). Everything takes time to make and the time needed is made worse by the investments into leveling up your gathering/crafting skills. If you fail or succeed an action, your skill will be awarded points that help increase the success chance of crafting an item. Your main stats will also receive points based on your actions, but they take an extraordinary amount of points to level.

When you are not gathering or hunting for the sustenance needed to survive, you will be wandering the same terrain for RNG spawns called godsends. They include random items and recipes that unlock the needed crafting options to progress from wood. There is also a cash shop offering chests with gear, general recipes and hourly stat increase scrolls for sale. Premium subscriptions are also available to increase the rate of leveling skills. I don't advise using any of the paid options, but then again, I don't recommend this game mainly for the massive grind that could have been reduced if not for the incentives offered in the store to reduce said grind. You need to craft all of your gear unless you are lucky enough to find some in the godsends and even the better stuff found in the once a day treasure hunt can be a pain to obtain. Granted, the game is much more fun with a buddy, but the overall payoff is not that rewarding when you take into account how boring the slog is.
