Thoth, the ancient Egyptian god of wisdom, writing, knowledge, and the moon, is often depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or as a baboon. Known as the inventor of writing, he was considered the scribe of the gods, recording their deeds and decisions. Thoth played a key role in maintaining the universe's order and was a mediator in divine conflicts. He also governed time, overseeing the lunar calendar.
