Window's 10 AMD VSR Colossus 2 Kaveri A10-7850k at 4.0 Ghz
had the very lastest\at the time , W_8.1 updates .
AMD CCC 15.6 beta was installed on W_8.1
downloaded W-10 . made iso bootable blu-ray ,
DVD was recommended .
update\upgraded from blu-ray .
after upgrade , microsoft downloaded AMD 15.20.150715a driver package version as viewed in CCC .
had to manually un-install Colossus 2 ,
see previous Colossus 2 video .
re-installed Colossus 2 using June 4th driver , and then installed 33085 Capture( came with CD-ROM )
( see previous Colossus 2 video )
Windows's 10\AMD CCC wants to scale everythng to full screen now. no more perfect pixel "all-around-borders" at 1600 x 900 .
AMD CCC still using "centered timings" , "GPU up-scaling" , "vitrual super-resolution"
The AMD CCC scaling slider still at 0 % .
Kaveri A10-7850k still has a BIOS max of 2 gig GPU texture memory .
W_10 now shows Total video memory available is 9 gig .
2 gig + 7 gig =to 9 gig .
had to re-adjust Colossus 2 proc amp settings to:
brightness 20 ( see next new video that adj W_10's gamma )
contrast 50
saturation 50
hue 50
TV settings are exactly the same .
Windows display Color Calibration , only adjusted Red , down just one click .

color calibration .
i did NOT adjust windows gamma .
also , AMD CCC settings are ALL at default( video and desktop settings ) , using FULL 255 video range in CCC .
can't record with Dolby 5.1 yet . Creative sound cards( ALL of them ) need an update to support DDL
Dolby Digital Live with W_10 . ETA updates Aug 2015 .
realtek ALC 892 audio 5.1 works .( NON-dolby )
AMD drivers seem good .
Colossus 2 Capture "Advanced settings" "Audio Decoder" will crash Capture everytime .
"Audio Decoder" dialogue will NOT open with W_10 . ( worked perfectly in W_8.1 )
over-all , everything was working pefectly with W_8.1 .
W_10 has a few snags\vender snags too .
WiFi Intel Dual band AC 7260 not working with W_10 ( no new driver yet )
realtek LAN PCIe GBE etherNet working , using new realtek W_10 driver .
The W_10 iso blu-ray disk can be used to make a Clean install , but only after the update has completed and has been registered to Microsoft . And the Clean install MUST
be perfomed onto the same machine that was upgraded\registered to W_10 .
if you have a 4k TV\monitor , the AMD VSR has NO use\purpose .
The TV here is 1080p . the menu shows a VSR of 2560 x 1440 in "The Old Blood"
I was running at 1080p .
VSR example use:
AMD says: "minimum VSR is 1600 x 900 ,
max VSR is 4k 3840 x 2160"
notebook 15.6" max res 1366 x 768 .
choose an available VSR , in game menu. AMD will render at that VSR res. then it will down-sample
back to the EDID of 1366 x 768 to give a valid video signal to that physical display .
if game res 1024 x 768 were choosen , AMD would up-sample to 1366 x 768 ( NON-vsr )
a VSR res for this notebook is any res greater then 1366 x 768 .
( CAUTION )
only choose a res higher then 1366 x 768 that is known to be a VSR res .
it is possible the EDID is not properly detected . some caution is advised .
AMD CCC shows these extra VRS res modes in the "basic" tab of "deskTop properties " .
Nvidia has a version of VSR too .
( CAUTION )
Kaveri is showing me a max VSR res of 2560 x 1440 .
( VSR modes are anything greater then your physically capable TV\monitor )
"The Old Blood" worked at 2560 x 1440 , but was too extra slow .
so i ran it at 1920 x 1080( W_10 , NON-vsr ) . Did 2560 x 1440 eliminate those fine tesselation jagies ? No , they were still there .
Note:
if Kaveri HDMI were connected to a 2560 x 1440 physical capable TV\monitor ,
then 2560 x 144o would No-longer be a VSR res mode .
Colossus 2 setup challange:
setup "Colossus 2" to get a good\proper "Live view" .
Then record , and see that the "recorded\playback view" looks the same as the "Live view" .
proc amp brightness 16 , the "record view" is just slightly brighter then "Live view" .
proc amp brightness 15 , the "record view" is just slightly darker then "Live view" .
i am using proc amp brightness of 16 , with W_10 .
a convergence . When the "record\playback view" looks the same as "Live view" , then the Colossus 2 is setup correctly .
