Windows 95 - Twenty years later...
Twenty years ago, Windows 95 was released on August 24, 1995, and was a significant progression from Microsoft's previous Windows products.
Accompanied by an extensive marketing campaign, Windows 95 was a major success in the marketplace at launch and shortly became the most popular desktop operating system.
It also introduced numerous functions and features that were featured in later Windows versions, such as the taskbar, the "Start" button, and the way the user navigates.
Three years after its introduction, Windows 95 was succeeded by Windows 98. Microsoft ended support for Windows 95 on December 31, 2001.
This build of Windows 95 is the original (4.00.950) and includes Internet Explorer as a Plus! add-on pack and is run on VirtualBox under Windows 10 host system. Installation of VirtualBox Guest Additions is not possible because of missing export KERNEL32.DLL:IsDebuggerPresent error.
The guest system is ran with the following configurations in VirtualBox settings:
Base memory of 64 MB
Single logical processor (1 of 8 threads used)
VT-x/AMD-v disabled to prevent Windows Protection Error
Video memory of 32 MB with 3D and 2D video acceleration
Please note that as I live on the other side of the world, the time zone is different. Therefore dates are mostly a day later than most of the United States.
Subsequent 480p videos will be uploaded with 904 KBps bitrate, with same settings as highlighted in my Cyberchase Quest 4: Stop the Stormerator video. 480p videos are currently restricted to 30 FPS.
