WHAT IS PROTON?
Proton is a compatibility layer released by Valve in cooperation with CodeWeavers that has been integrated with Steam Play to make playing Windows games on Linux (including Steam Deck’s SteamOS ofc) as easy as taking candy from a baby.
It incorporates several libraries to translate Direct3D API. It includes DXVK, a Vulkan-based translation layer for Direct3D 9, 10, and 11, with support for Direct3D 12 provided via VKD3D-Proton, a fork of VKD3D from Wine.
Proton also supports some common anti-cheat like Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and BattlEye. it's worth to mention that this sport is still up to the developers to enable Linux support for their anti-cheat or not.
