Witcher 3 (PS4) - Ciri swims on land
7Let's return back in time; to a simpler time, before Ciri grew huge muscles on top of her clothes, and examine a different outcome what exploring with her can cause.
Knocking on wood is generally said to prevent bad luck, but in Ciri's case it only creates more glitches. If you go to the King of Beggars' hideout entrance and knock on the door, something strange happens. Ciri retains most of her normal movements skills, but circle-button (jump / evade) does nothing any longer. Can't turn camera. Can't access menus. Pressing L1 (wheel menu) only slows down time but doesn't actually display anything. Ciri also lacks a death animation in this mode...
Talking to other characters still works fairly normally - as normally as you can expect while playing as Ciri. Not sure if starting smaller quests would cause some extra craziness to happen.
If you run off a ledge, Ciri starts air running, kind of. She falls down much slower than normal and runs instead of falling. There is a chance you are immune to fall damage in this mode.
If you go swimming, well, good luck with that. You remain permanently swimming afterwards! Swimming works otherwise normally, except you have ground HUD and you can't dive at all. Since the climbing buttons doesn't work, you have to find a shore to get back on land, and afterwards Ciri still continues "swimming". Walking with her causes her to slosh around very slowly like a zombie, and letting go of L-stick makes her paddle in place a bit. Can't attack, open L1-menu or do anything else like activate prompts after that. Only thing you can do is to slowly slosh around forever, being ignored by everyone... except monsters. Whom you are powerless to kill, I might add. A cruel fate!
(Might be interesting to see what happens if you enter a cutscene while swimming and glitched up, but I couldn't find one on this occasion.)
