Batman refuses to participate in a demeaning Augmented Reality-tutorial and instead escapes it.

Using a corner cover zip, you can get out from this Falcone Shipping training area that two of the AR tutorials use. Now you can free roam while the tutorial is on... so what does this mean?

The AR training Gotham City is bereft of life and radio chatter and not much can be done there. You lack a vehicle and can't access the quest menu. Hmm.

One interesting detail is that if you access the AR tutorial from main menu and then escape it, you end up in a Gotham City that resembles the one from the start of the game. Batman complains that he has to meet Gordon at the bat signal and none of the buildings can be accessed.

However, if you enter the AR training in your current save file, then escape it, the state of the town is the same as it is in your save file. This means that you can access inside unlocked buildings and all the main areas while in this mode. Sadly it doesn't seem any quest markers exist while you're in AR training mode, which reduces the use of this trick by quite a lot.

Dying while inside a simulation, even by falling out of bounds, just gives you the "Simulation Failed"-menu.

I also escaped from one of the predator challenges while at it, leading to same / similar results. Doing the gargoyle zip at the Studios, Batman ends up out of bounds near one of the exit bridges. You get to see the low-res bridge and its bizarre texture from very close!

For some reason while messing around near the bridge the simulation reset completely by itself and teleported Batman back into the simulation area.

If you fall into water (too far from familiar ground) right after having aborted the simulation, you get the cutscene of Batman rising up to ground level as usual. But then, a painful revelation: you are softlocked!

If there were ways to end the simulation without being teleported back and / or softlocked, it might actually come in handy in a speedrun. Who knows?
