Me and Kazooie played this game one day and wanted to take Roach out on a pleasant boat ride. Well, that didn't work out - something else happened instead.

While Roach outright refuses to walk off ledges, you can fool it to fall down by doing a jump adjacent to a ledge, then turning slightly towards the edge. We managed to drop Roach into Geralt's boat this way, but trying to move the boat just left Roach hanging mid-air. Yup, it didn't move with the boat at all. What a stubborn horse...

Scaring Roach while it floated mid-air caused it to drop down into water. Interestingly enough, while Roach normally disappears instantly if you ride into water with it, just scaring it makes it drop through the water surface harmlessly. It appears Roach survives water just fine as long as Geralt stays the heck away from it.

Roach doesn't have any difficulties breathing underwater and it just hangs out there like it's no big deal. You can even try to mount Roach while underwater, but (as implied) a Witcher's touch makes it vanish into atoms. We tried a few different approaches (even mounting Roach during water bow glitch) but nothing seemed to work.

So long Roach... You have returned to the sea...
