My playthrough of Chapter 2 once again provides a chance to find secrets I may have missed the first time last December.

The most significant secret to add to that list is Chapter 2's secret exit/level. I'm not even sure if it even existed in 0.6; because of how the torch was designed in that version, I wouldn't have even found the one switch i stumbled into this time to alert me to the presence of the secret exit in that level to begin with.

On the subject of the torch: it has been redesigned to be persistent per-level, rather than a consumable, which is an extremely welcome change. Its original consumable design could be quite problematic particularly in Chapter 2, as you're pretty much required to have torches in a couple of areas, and since max capacity is so low, your chances to re-explore are extremely limited. (I tend to find the low per-item caps, combined with dealing with so many items in the inventory, discourage me from using any items whatsoever, but I am also a natural hoarder regardless.)

Tangentially related to the secret level, there was ultimately a second hint in addition to stumbling upon one of the switches: one of the lore fragments in the level alludes to the location featured in the secret level. There's only one problem with this: those weren't added until Mid-May, at which point I had already been mostly through that level (and halfway through the entire game).

That means I would have to replay the entire first half of the game again if I want to read the rest of the lore bits, as they were apparently added post-launch. This seems like a thing they probably would've wanted to add at launch, and I would've liked to think that the 2 delays the game already underwent would've allowed time for this, but alas. This won't adversely affect anyone who plays the game any time hereafter, but as an early-adopter I felt pretty frustrated.

I was surprised to find a new weapon not seen in 0.6, which I wasn't expecting to uncover until Chapter 3. But I can see why they might've decided to add it before the end of Chapter 2; it's a pretty effective counter for a couple of enemy types introduced there. However, this means there's only 2 new weapons remaining to be revealed in Chapter 3; we'll have to see how that balances with its other additions.
