Despite Blizzard's efforts, WoW continues to lose players without really gaining any new blood to fill their place. This fate can be prevented, though, if the game draws more from the strengths of other MMOs that have attempted to bring down the blizzard behemoth.

Who am I to make such judgements? Allow me to share my credentials.

I've been a WoW player since the very beginning, during vanilla WoW. I played a lot from then through shadowlands, when we experienced the worst content patch in the game's history, korthia, which also coincided with the massive blizzard drama, which broke apart my rose colored goggles and allowed me to see the game for what it really was. Bad.
and I wasn't the only one.

While many others simply replaced WoW with FF14, I dabbled in many different MMOs, and experienced what they had to offer. This journey through all these different games more clearly outlined to me what is exactly WRONG with WoW by showing what was RIGHT with its competition

Meanwhile, as blizzard hemorrhaged players at an alarming rate, and the lawsuits and audits cleaned out a lot of the problematic internals of the company, blizzard has made genuine efforts to finally understand its players, and make changes to bring them back into the fold.

After seeing several items from my personal wishlist were announced as features for the war within, I decided to bite, and see what WoW is like nowadays, and have come to these conclusions based on my experiences with WoW's past, present, and its competition.

This is about as thorough a critique as it comes. A massive dig into what WoW is doing right, both now and in the near future, and what it is doing wrong. I love WoW, but its stagnation has left it far from the mark of what it should have grown into after almost 20 years. I'm tired of it. I want the game to fulfill its potential so badly, so i made this video to show its potential.
