* It was the first known printing pressdeveloped in 1430 s by Johan Gutenberg of Germany. From his child hood, he had a good experience of wine and olive presses.
* He developed metal types for each of the 26 characters of the roman alphabet and devised a way of moving them around so as to compose different words of the text. This came to be known as the movable type printing machine.
