Mighty immortal beings don't have the stamina they used to, but at least they're excellent at setting lava traps!

Apocalypse's stage has a few more obstacles than most other stages do. Most notably is the lava chases. The first chase requires the player to break down barriers before the lava catches up, so try to pick a speedy X-Man (i.e. not Beast or Cyclops). Additionally, this stage has an increased amount of giant and knife soldiers, so watch out for that. Fortunately, the Xs in the stage are all fairly easy to get, and I think only Cyclops is unable to get them all (due to his problems with the first lava chase portion).

Apocalypse, himself, is a rather odd boss. For being immortal, it doesn't take more than a few combos to finish him off. He does teleport every time he is attacked, and he will choose an attack based on how far away he is from the player. If he is close, he will cause spikes to erupt from his body. He is invulnerable in this state, and any melee attack leveraged against him will result in damage against the X-Man. If he is a few feet away, he'll transform his arm into a drill and attack; it's very hard to dodge, and usually requires a preemptive jump to escape safely. Finally, if he is far away, he will use a fireball attack that is very easy to dodge. This is the best one to have him use as it gives the player ample time to counter, so I recommend luring it when you can.
