X2 - How to Capture Military Personal
2If you installed the Bonus Package for X2 (and why shouldn't you?), you have the option to get military personal for the turrets on your ship (or any ship you own for that matter!), which drastically improve the turrets performance!!
Not only will they shoot faster (yeah, you read right!), but also more accurately.
AND they will use the best weapon for any given situation if you have those weapons in the ships storage!
- if friendlies are around, no SWGs (area damage weapon) will be used!
- fast and low damage ISE won't be wasted on capital ships, but used against rockets
- PIKs will be used at distance and against capital ships; but if close enough, the Gamma-EPWs will be used instead because they do more damage
The good thing is: you don't need the super-expensive AEGIS upgrade (52 mio. cr.!). This is only for even more advanced commands like trying not to destroy the ships (so the enemy pilot will eject, which leaves the ship for you to use/sell!).
But where to get this "Ware"?
Search for special transporters (TP) in all Argon sectors. They will be called something like "Transport SomeRandomID" (0:04).
Now you've got two choices.

Or you can go the easier and faster route, where you'll try and capture the transporter!
You will only loose your Argon police license; it won't lower your rank!
So this is the best way to get them, because for a M2 you will need as many as 90!
To capture, shoot at the TP fast and in one go until the armor is gone to about 70% (I've found 3 Gamma PBKs work best).
The pilot will either give up the ship, or won't. Just reload until the ship is yours.
With any luck, there will be dozens of persons in "storage" :-)

X2 was the last X game with cockpits (and real joystick support). It has amazing graphics and sound!
But I have to apologize: the sound effects in these videos is way off... could be the EAX and 5.1 surround sound conflicting with Fraps capturing under WinXP; I don't really know :-\
