Inspired by the great movies of old, Ludwig always wanted to operate a big gun. With his hands shaking like earthquake and fire sound completely suppressing any other sound on the battlefield.
When the Cult of Sirius emerged, Ludwig joined the counter-religion, the Inquisitors. Operating an illegal minigun obtained from underground groups, Spikemaker managed to fill a support role.
Sadly, one minigun operator wasn't enough for Inquisitors to win. The organisation dissolved, Cult of Sirius prevailed. Ludwig was pissed, after this he became a scavenger, collecting 2000-s era armor and ammunition which was still scattered on battlegrounds of the First Alien War.
The Cult was still going strong, and Spikemaker was quite strong with plenty of combat experience, so he was recruited in XCOM to prevent his questionable collections. For his loyalty to XCOM he was allowed to treat prisoners - former Cult of Sirius members - like trash.
He loves metal music. He hates Cult of Sirius and aliens.
