Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Part 61: Jin's True Power, Pyra's Dire Offer
Just as things were starting to look up for Rex and his team again in Tantal, things started to turn down for the worst as the Torna arrived. Akhos, Patroka, and Mikhal were ready to fight them for the Omega Fetter.
Although they didn't have their Blades, they didn't need them, because they were their own Blades, Flesh Eater Blades, even!
----------
I didn't have too much of a clear-cut strategy in this fight, because my team was pretty overleveled against Torna by this point. I went after Mikhail first because it still felt like he was the most defensive of the three, but be aware of the other two.
Try going after the Weather Changer pole. It looks like having it out will randomly change everyone's elemental weakness every few seconds.
----------
After defeating these three Torna Blades, their leader, Jin, shows up to lend them a hand, and he does this by striking Zeke from behind right before he could finish them off.
Malos was also there, but he was simply there to watch Jin take on the team by himself. Indeed, Jin desired this, as he transformed his body to make full use of his Ice Blade powers.
----------
Despite his transformation, Jin seems to fight the same as he did before, just with harder hitting moves.
Once again, be careful when he uses his Stunned Swallow art. That will automatically Launch you when you're close to him.
----------
Jin's true form was so fast and so powerful that not even the help of Mythra's Foresight allowed Rex to keep up with Jin's speed of light.
They tried to use their own light speed to keep up with Jin, but Jin was able to get through this, too.
Jin then dashed in to unleash a particularly lethal strike against both Rex and Mythra. The attack was so intense that it shattered their sword to pieces, and forced Mythra to change to Pyra!
Everyone was then pinned down by the Artificial Blades Torna got from Bana's factory. Mòrag tried to break free, but Mikhail put her in a chokehold.
As Jin threatened to kill Rex, and as such Pyra and Mythra, once and for all, Pyra stood up to make a very life-threatening deal with him...
She had threatened to use Mythra's Artifice Aion to destroy herself if Jin didn't spare Rex's life. Normally, only Mythra could control that Artifice, but despite being made as Mythra's shadow, Pyra had shown to be capable of this control, herself.
Knowing that both Jin and Malos needed Pyra alive to reach Elysium, themselves, they acquiesced to the deal.
Pyra took the contained Omega Fetter from Rex, and left with Torna. Pyra's friends could not believe that she was giving herself up to Torna just to save their lives. This was so shocking, it made Brighid finally open her eyes.
Rex begged for Pyra not to do this, but all Pyra could do left was faint in Jin's arms. This lead Jin to berate Rex for not thinking about his own Blade, his Aegis enough to notice her scars. Her pain...
Torna then flew away... All Rex could do was call out Pyra's name to the skies. The last thing we hear to end Chapter 6... was a thud. After that shout, Rex had fell back into the snow... utterly defeated.
He had lost his Aegis...
