Part 78 of this playthrough had me fight Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X. Unfortunately, I never beat her in that video, and I accidentally got rid of the footage where I DO.

So to make up for that, here's the followup. If you do beat Otherworldly Fighters, you can use Elma as a Dark Blade in the Archsage challenges.

However, she cannot leave the place to join Rex back in Alrest. If you want to do that, you'll have to play the newer, harder version of her challenge, now renamed Elma Redux.
----------

In Elma Redux, she will outright start her fight against you with Ghost Factory. You definitely need to use a Blade Combo that Seal Reinforcements, because every once in a while, she'll Ghost Factory, again!

But at the same time, you want to use those Blade Combos to install as many Elemental Orbs on her as you can. You just have to be careful with this, because each Blade Combo replaces the previous Seal with its own. You need to figure out when you want to keep Seal Reinforcements on Elma while installing those Orbs.

If her Ghost Elmas are out, deal with them, first, for they have less HP, but still keep the real Elma in mind. She can still use Ghost Factory even while there are still Ghost Elmas out!

But like I said before, you should just use Custom Difficulty to tone her down if you really just want to get her permanently. The coup de grâce is to try and save Pneuma until you're sure her help can finish Elma off with a powerful Chain Attack.
----------

The Archsage is so impressed at the victory that Elma gets an Alrest Link Replay from him. This allows her to fianlly reach Alrest and fight alongside Rex.

Of course, this is under the guise that Elma's real body is still resting at New LA, while the Elma you see right now is an exact duplication of that body being manifested outside of her world, as if her soul was still present in Alrest.
----------

As a Blade, Elma uses the Dark Element with her twin Archetype Ralzes swords. She keeps her Arts from Xenoblade X as Specials, such as the Sliding Slinger, and her Full Metal Jaguar.

A special, exclusive trait that Elma has as a Blade is the return of her Overdrive technique. In this game, you need to have full Party Gauge and press the R and - Buttons while Elma is out. This will drain the Party Gauge empty, but then it will fill more slowly, while an Overdrive counter will increase from different attacks such as Driver Arts and Blade Specials.

The higher the Overdrive counter is, the more bonuses your party gets, but a gauge is also winding down, which will end Overdrive if it empties. You can attempt to keep the Overdrive gauge up by using another Overdrive through filling the Party Gauge back up, furthering you oppotunities for battles bonuses.

Unfortunately... I didn't take advantage of this for the rest of the playthrough.
----------

Part of unlocking Elma's Affinity Chart involves taking her touring around Alrest to certain areas in the game. She will often comment on how similar these places are to those of her home planet Mira.

Much like what Shulk & Fiora do, a lot of Elma's comments will relate to people and places from her game. Even then battle theme for Unique Monsters will be from her game if she's engaged as a Blade in the party.

Someday, I may want to play Xenoblade X's story for myself, but for now, this is the last video that I will emphasis about Elma.

There are still other Blades I want to get!
