Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Part 80: Rescuing Kasandra & Unsealing Herald
4In Xenoblade 2, there are different ways that Rare Blades are gotten. Some are gained at random from Core Crystals. Others are gained DLC or battles from the DLC. There's at least one that has to be outright bought with your own Gold.
This video is about getting two more Rare Blades that CANNOT be gotten through RNG.

To get Kassandra, you must first get a Greedy Monster Info item from a Nopon named Razzlydazzly in Argentum, or go to Mor Ardain's Informant shop and buy it from there, OR from Garfont Village's Informant shop at Uraya. You have quite a few options!
You then have to go to the Salvaging Point called "Near Chansagh Wastes" in Mor Ardain, you are supposed to keep salaving until you get a Gluttonous Marrin monster.
However, this took me longer than I thought it was... because my Salvaging Mastery Field Skills at the time were making it way to unlikely to fish up any monsters to begin with. So I had to take some of that out to bring out Marrin.

Once you've beaten Gluttonous Marrin, it will spit out the Lucky Core Crystal, which will always contain Kassandra in it.
Kassandra is an adorable battle maiden of a Shield Hammer Blade. She believes that she can spread good luck to everything and everyone around her, but what she doesn't completely realize is that her fox mask brings about quite the opposite. This would explain why she's a Dark Blade. That mask is cursed!
Kassandra was designed by an artist codenamed Shirabii, who has made art for Fate/Grand Order.

In between going from getting Kassandra to getting Herald, a couple things happen in Theosoir when I visit Tantal:
Another Affinity task for Corvin that involves helping the locals take out certain monsters.

Wulfric accidentally scares a person for bumping into him, but that was really him trying to calm down.
The man was looking for some help. There were some people trapped from a rockfall. Wulfric rushed towards the problem, thus starting his Blade Quest "Tender-Hearted Beast".

Lastly, Miss Dahlia has a heartwarming moment with a child there. The girl loved her soft and pretty clothes and fur. She even enjoy Dahlia's accent more than she did Zeke's. She had quite a few questions to ask Dahlia that the Ice Blade had to stop her for a moment.
Dahlia tried to give the girl some advice on how she had to grow up to be more like her. It seemed like a lot to take in, but the girl had confidence in herself about it.

Back on the main point of this video, to get to Herald, her Sealed Core Crystal is in Theosoir, you need to find 100 of the items you need to after to this altar to release her. I was able to find some of these items in Land of Morytha, especially when I went back inside the Womb Hollow.
Herald herself is a powerful Electric Ether Cannon Blade. A woman who uses her limbs to control a powerful beat that surrounds her whole body. Her destructive power is what led her to be sealed away to begin with. She now carries a burden of self-guilt for what trouble her power has caused in the past that she no longer remembers.
Herald was designed by Hideo Minaba, one of the art directors of Final Fantasy VI, and currently the CEO of CyDesignation Co.

Right after you get Herald, you can go through a Heart-to-Heart she has, "Atonement", which goes further into how her power led her to be sealed away. Courtesy of the words of King Eulogimenos, himself.
The one who sealed Herald... was Herald, herself. She took her own life out of regret of her own power causing her to go berserk. Now, with her being awakened once more, she contemplated having her life *permanently* ended, but you get to choose what her Driver says to this, and what they will offer to Eulogimenos through this.
Naturally, either choice doesn't lead to Herald's end. What matters is she's there now ready to aid her Driver and their friends.
