Bet you weren't expecting THIS! I've been waiting for Xenoblade Chronicles X for damn near three years, and the wait's finally over! Its perhaps not the most "Tube-able" game out there for me right now, though. Too much time spent wandering around, not wanting to have spoilers out and such....but I figured I COULD show off my created character!

Meet Cassandra! Oddly, you don't get to name your character until a cutscene right AFTER you create them, but that's her! I went for a bit of a military brat kinda girl here...even if no military would likely let her have her hair like that.

If I can step on a soapbox for a minute, I made a female character partially out of a desire to see more main female characters in games (and really, this game has a ton of them so far), and partially because, well, I tend to like the alternate designs of characters and such if given a choice. In fighting games I like choosing their other colors or costumes over their default, and for X, well, you're presented with Cross (the default "canon" name) as a redhead generic guy. Shame we live in a world where ONLY the guy is the default, but here we are.

There's quite a lot of options here, and it'd be neat to see what male characters are like, but that's not what we're here for today! You're gonna be using this character for like 100+ hours, so choose wisely!

Going off of the first hairstyle, I almost made her more of an alternative/punk girl, but figured I'd go for a character you wouldn't really see in an anime-style game like this. (Though I guess my first choice is also not really something Japan tends to like anyways...not kawaii enough!)

I'm certainly impressed with the voice actors in this game overall, and they spared no expense with the avatar voices! Cassandra's a no-nonsense, hardened military brat, so Solider seemed like a good choice, but I had initially thought that Mary Elizabeth McGlynn's sultry tones would fit, but I thought against it. Really, Kira Buckland's "Independent" voice was a strong second too. For reference, Carina Reeves is an English actress who also played Fiora in Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii.

And for those that wanted to know, your male voice options are Yuri Lowenthal (Heroic), Bryce Papenbrook (Rookie), Keith Silverstein (Rebel), Robbie Daymond (Studious), Ben Diskin (Joker), Adam Howden (Classic, also Shulk's voice from Xenoblade on Wii!) and Dan Woren (Warrior).

Mira awaits us! Go, Cassandra! Let the legend come back to life!
