Xtreme Pickups - Sega Mega Drive PAL Console & Games, PAL vs. NTSC Overview & Testing
21Recently got a PAL Sega Mega Drive console and games after I discovered that a spare TV that I have supports 50Hz PAL Video, which is rare for American NTSC TV's to support so I decided to try a PAL game console on it. The Sega Mega Drive is pretty affordable so I went with that to test things out. I ordered this on eBay from Sweden and I actually had to wait about a month for this because the package had been shipped back to the seller after he forgot to fill out a customs form, then it eventually came so I was happy about that at least. On the surface, this is nothing too special, just a European version of the Sega Genesis which looks almost identical but has some cosmetic differences and hardware differences. For those who don't know, PAL is a video format used in areas of the world such as Europe and Australia, while areas such as Japan and the United States use NTSC. In this video, I unbox the contents, talk about some of the differences between PAL vs NTSC, and test whether the console works. I even show my small collection of PAL Sega Mega Drive games.
