Yao-Guai Hunter is a super cool Wuxia-flavored roguelike deck-building game filled with Chinese fantasy heroes and monsters in development. It's a beautiful roguelike with unique gameplay mechanics, fresh character design, and a lovely art style. The enemy balancing is good, events have a good mixture of risk/reward, and the music is pretty awesome too! I feel the developers were inspired by Slay the Spire, but added their own fresh take on the genre using Chinese folklore. I have played all the characters, and each character has plenty of unique ways to play each time. The artwork is absolutely stunning, and I enjoy all the characters and enemy models. I feel as if the developers also should put a lot of care into the sound effects. Yao-Guai Hunter rocks, a lot of people are saying it's a Slay the Spire clone but I think that's overly simplistic. it has a lot of minor variations on the formula that really mix up how you play. This game has a chance of taking the throne, I can't wait for full release. Hope you enjoy my video.
