YDMiniatures- The Imperial Grenadiers made it to my table!
83Here's some nice looking models I stumbled across recently!
YD Minis (Your Dream Minis) have started putting out some new resin lines of grimdark infantry that certainly look like they'd find a home in the Guard. The Empire Grenadiers are very much in the vein of space Napoleonics, but could quite easily function as Vostroyans while their Dump Dogs could probably fill all sorts of roles, from the obvious Chem Dogs to mucking around in the Underhive.
The models cleaned up nicely and were easy to build for the most part. I do appreciate the fact that every figure had an optional head and backpack combination depending on whether you wanted to have them equipped with rebreather masks. All of the heavy weapon troops include a regular rifle as well if you wish to skip on the big guns.
The only real head scratcher was the Haemonculus- like Arachnida, and the only real challenge there was double checking where the extra limbs all attached.
I'm pleased with the finished figures. They aren't overtly large but they don't feel squat and tiny either. The poses look nice and the detail on the uniforms are nice and crisp. They look good with other grimdark models on the table and are a bit more true scale sized compared to Wargames Atlantic's Grognard kit.
Do give them a look if you are in the market to expand your Guard kill teams with a bit more unique looking troops!
