Trying (and failing) to print some Rocket Pig Games' models...
Thankfully I got a new screen in the mail today, and that's what Phrozen thinks is the problem. We'll see.
Rocket Pig makes some neat sculpts. They make some REALLY BIG stuff too. I'd been wanting to try some of their figures out, so with the endless sales of the season, I figured now is as good of time as any.
Y'know, other than the fact that my printer was having crazy printing errors.
The models are definitely unique looking. I feel that's also Rocket Pig's biggest weakness, as some of their poses can look a bit same-y after a while, boiling down to whatever disturbing body horror designs you prefer- too many eyes, arms, holes in their bodies, legs, mouths... their creatures are a match made in heaven for me. There's so much choice too!
So I picked a few random models from my ever- growing collection of their files and gave printing them a shot, despite knowing things may turn out less than ideal.
My primed results... are a bit underwhelming, to be honest. Detail doesn't seem as clear as it should be. Of the group the Green Fiend probably came out the nicest. Going back and looking at the STL files for them all, the details are so much sharper and crisper- I'm going to blame this one solely on my printer.
I'll try some other sculpts with the new screen, but more importantly (and interestingly), I'm going to get my brother to try printing some of the bigger models on his FDM printer and see how those turn out.
Take advantage of all the sales going on and do a better job printing them than me!
