You Cannot Support a Government Ban on Food Dye and Call Yourself a “Libertarian”
Visual Description: A woman captured with a web cam is displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. She has brown hair worn waved and decorated with butterfly hair clips. She wears blue-rimmed eyeglasses that help her to see, and an ivory-coloured prairie revival-style dress. She's surrounded by a wooden picture frame. Screenshots, text, and images are shown on the left-hand side of the screen. At various points she shows a screenshot of a post on Jo Jorgensen's Facebook page, text from the Libertarian party's platform, a photograph of toothpaste showing the ingredient list, a photograph of a box of raspberry chocolates, and the ingredient list of the raspberry chocolates. A photograph of a field of dandelions has been used as an overall background layer, helping to fill in any blank spots on the screen.
Description: I'm sick of our party being infiltrated by statists who want to deprive individuals of their "freedom and responsibility to decide what they knowingly and voluntarily consume, and what risks they accept to their own health, finances, safety, or life." Jo Jorgensen is right. A REAL Libertarian would support the right of consenting adults to consume food dye in their own home. #FreedomToChoose #EducateNotRegulate
I care so much about this issue because it directly impacts me and my quality of life. I have allergies outside of the Top 9. The toothpaste that I can use contains food dye in it. If red #40 gets banned and my toothpaste stops being made, then I will have no toothpaste. I cannot just switch brands to an alternative product.
If the candies that I get at Passover with food dye stop being made and sold, then I also can't just switch brands - I'll be forced to do without. Also, in case you aren't aware, the "candies" made to cater to those of us with allergies oftentimes aren't very sweet or comparable to the products that they're trying to imitate. I personally rely heavily on products that are made for Passover, many of which contain artificial dyes.
