Welcome to Diving Area, the second level of the Offshore And Sunken Ship section from Tomb Raider 2.

If you are playing the level normally then you would have to raise the helipad in order to be able to complete the level. There's a button that you press which seemingly causes the helipad to raise; after you push the button it shows the helipad risen.

However, I made a basic discovery which I decided to share in this video. The discovery is that you don't need to press the button in order to raise the helipad. In this video there is a clip of me approaching the button but not pressing it, then heading to the helipad and seeing that it had risen. My best guess would be that the tile that you have to stand on in order to be able to press the button is what causes the helipad to rise. If this is the case then I guess that Core didn't think that somebody would run up to the button, ignore it and then run to the helipad.
