Extra Shotgun Ammo In Natla's Mines? (Tomb Raider 1)
Welcome to Natla's Mines, the first level of the Atlantis section from Tomb Raider 1.
In this level you are able to collect the pistols near the start of the level. One of the secrets contains the shotgun, as well as other pickups. You can also collect a different shotgun from killing the enemy at the end, as well as being able to collect the magnums and uzis from killing the two other enemies. There are other pickups throughout the level; ammo and healthpacks.
In this video I show you that it's possible to initially avoid the secret containing the shotgun. You can collect the shotgun at the end of the level and then return to the secret containing the shotgun. The secret will no longer contain a shotgun since you already have a shotgun; it will contain shotgun shells instead. Doing things this way appears to result in you ending up with two extra shotgun bullets. Collecting the shotgun at the end and collecting shotgun shells from the secret seems to result in you ending up with two more bullets than collecting the shotgun from the secret and then collecting the shotgun at the end.
I don't know if you would have to do things this way in order to technically complete the level 100%. Regardless of which way you go about completing the level it's easy to collect every secret and pickup and kill every enemy. However, by approaching the level in this one particular way you end up with more in your inventory; you end up with more shotgun ammo. Do you have to complete the level this way in order to be completing the level 100%? I don't know.
I did the all weapons cheat so that I had every gun in my inventory to see if this affected my ammo when collecting the guns throughout the level. It seemed that the ammo for each gun remained the same when collecting the gun with me already having the gun. The secret contained shotgun ammo instead of the shotgun itself after doing the all weapons cheat, which I guess shouldn't be a surprise.
I finished the video by showing you some oddities with the fuses. This wasn't my focus of the video though. I wasn't particularly interested in the oddities with the fuses, which is why I didn't do a separate video for it. I consider it to be of limited interest, I consider it to be small fry. Therefore, I included it during the tail end of this video but don't care for it much.
