You'd think hell would be more interesting...(MoTU Revelation Episode 4 Review)
956In this episode the gang enters Subternia, the Land of the Dead. It's surprisingly not very exciting. There's so much you could do with an underworld setting but it's pretty lackluster. It's no Dante's Inferno, that's for sure. Anyway, we meet Scarglow in his first animated appearance but he's basically a knock off Pennywise who just wants to eat people's fear.
This is also the episode where Orko is killed off, at least for now and it was pretty unnecessary. The gang just stands around instead of fighting back just like in the last episode where they were fighting Merman's forces. Unfortunately, Duncan's not around to come in an d save the day at the last minute so we end up losing Orko. It makes the characters look really bad when they have ranged weapons but choose not to use them. As if that wasn't bad enough, they go out of their way to talk about how super special awesome Teela is only for her to totally fail in the end. Ouch. The whole thing's a big let down.
