And just like that, the steady progress I was making in Ys VI comes swiftly to an end... which doesn't remotely surprise me. Limewater Cave was always my Waterloo in this game, due to the combination of its confusing layout and the low visibility, caused by a combination of darkness and fog. Even the item that's needed to continue doesn't really help matters much... and by the end, I essentially resorted to using a walkthrough to help me navigate to a few of the more important items.

On the plus side, completing the second of Alma's Trials went pretty quickly and while fumbling around in the dark, I seemed to unlock another one. Whether that was the third or fourth, I have no idea. Either way, at the very least, they seem to pay out pretty well. And judging by the sheer amount of Emels I'll need by game's end, that's a good thing.

I did manage to make it to the end of the dungeon... twice. The first time, I got absolutely destroyed by the boss. And while things were a little more even the second attempt, I still was unable to finish the boss off, which is why I consider this stream a failure. I plan on doing the third Alma's Trial at the start of the next stream and hopefully, that'll give me at least one more level, which should give me a much easier time against the boss I'm stuck on. If not, I guess I'll just grind for it.

It's funny, when I fought it on Normal difficulty way back when, I liked the gimmick for this boss. I thought it was clever. Maybe rebalancing the damage for a higher difficulty is what's making it more annoying for me. Who knows. Either way, I'm beginning to think I may not even be able to finish this game by the end of the month at this rate... unless my next stream is a real doozy.
