Previously, as we started the game, Link revived in the Shrine of Resurrection. As he began exploring the Great Plateau region, he activated the Great Plateau Tower and completed the Magnesis Trial in the Oman Au Shrine.
Link resumes near the Great Plateau Tower (time 0:18). Now, to resume the main quest "The Isolated Plateau", he will continue visiting the Great Plateau's shrines. He begins going southeast from the tower to the Eastern Abbey.
There is a pond outside the northwest corner of the Eastern Abbey (time 1:32). Link can use Magnesis to dredge a chest out. The chest contains some Amber.
Be very careful while exploring the Eastern Abbey (time 3:27). Some of the Guardians in the area are still active! Their laser beams are deadly to Link. As in one-hit-kill deadly.
On the eastern edge of the Great Plateau behind the Eastern Abbey, Link can find a metal door lying on the ground (time 4:42). After he moves the door with Magnesis, he lifts the rock underneath. This reveals a Korok. It gives Link Korok Seed #002!
On the eastern peak of the Eastern Abbey, Link can pull out the Soldier's Broadsword (time 5:30). Not a bad weapon for this point in the story.
Link climbs the walls and arrives at Ja Baij Shrine (time 6:17). He opens the door and unlocks the Travel Gate. Then, he heads inside (time 6:33).
Within the Ja Baij Shrine, he undertakes the Bomb Trial.
At the pedestal just inside, he acquires the Remote Bomb runes on the Sheikah Slate (time 7:10). One bomb rune is round, while the other is cube-shaped. The cube-shaped Remote Bomb does not roll. A bomb remains in existence until Link detonates it. Link has an infinite supply of bombs; they just take a short while to recharge.
Using the Remote Bomb runes, Link progresses through the trial.
Just inside and to the right, he can find a chest with the Traveler's Claymore (time 8:20). This is a two-handed sword.
Farther in, he can find another chest with a piece of Amber (time 9:43).
At the end, Link approaches Ja Baij (time 10:57). J.B. rewards him with Spirit Orb #002.
When Link returns outside (time 11:56), he can use his handy new Remote Bombs to blast the cracked rock blocking the archway to the west. Unfortunately, Remote Bombs are not useful against Guardians. Link will need special weapons for them.
From the Eastern Abbey, Link travels southwest. He can find a camp with a couple of Bokoblins (time 13:54). He can take them by surprise before they grab their weapons. There is also a beehive in a nearby tree.
Farther southwest, Link can find the Old Man's hut (time 17:09). He can farm for Stamella Shrooms in the vicinity of the hut. After nightfall, he can find Sunset Fireflies. There is a cookfire outside.
Link talks to the Old Man outside (time 17:12). The Old Man gives him permission to use the bed in the hut when the Old Man is not sleeping there.
Link reads the Old Man's Diary in the hut (time 18:52). It yields an informal sidequest. If Link succeeds in making Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry, the Old Man will give him a useful Warm Doublet. The recipe requires Raw Meat, Spicy Pepper, and an ingredient that the Old Man has forgotten.
Spicy Peppers can be found on the table. At the cookfire outside, Link rests until morning. He also leaves a stamp on his map to mark the hut's location.
In the morning, Link can find the Old Man trying to chop down a tree southwest of the hut (time 20:56). The hint is that Link can use a Woodcutter's Axe to chop down a nearby tree to make a bridge going west. This will let him reach the base of the cliff where the southern shrine is located. A tree will fall in the direction Link is facing.
Back at the hut, Link can talk to the Old Man about cooking (time 22:29). Knowing that Link read his diary, the Old Man advises Link to hunt for Raw Meat in the Forest of Spirits in the north of the plateau.
Link fast-travels back to the Shrine of Resurrection (time 23:52).
He returns to the pond near the Temple of Time (time 25:46). There, he fishes for Hyrule Bass. This is the missing ingredient for Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry. Link can try to fish for Hyrule Bass while swimming. He can also throw in and detonate a Remote Bomb to kill fish and bring them to the surface.
