Previously, Link continued the DLC Pack 2 main quest "EX The Champions' Ballad". He destroyed monster bases near the Temple of Time and on Mount Hylia and completed the Ruvo Korbah Shrine and the Etsu Korima Shrine. The One-Hit Obliterator broke apart to point the way to four locations. In this video, Link will start with the location in the Lanayru region.
Link resumes at his house in Hateno Village.
Before leaving town, he prays to the goddess statue at the Hateno mayor's house (time 1:32). He turns in the four Spirit Orbs from the DLC shrines on the Great Plateau. He obtains Heart Container #28. It sounds like this is as many Heart Containers as he can get.
To get started in the Lanayru region, Link teleports to the Divine Beast Vah Ruta (time 2:16). The target location is on Ja'Abu Ridge southeast of East Reservoir Lake. Link paraglides east from Vah Ruta's plateau. He crosses the southern slopes of Ruto Mountain and crosses the Rutala Dam. Past the dam, he climbs Ja'Abu Ridge.
On Ja'Abu Ridge, Link finds the target location (time 6:11). Kass is nearby. A scene takes place when Link approaches the monument. A disembodied voice issues a new challenge. Each of the three pillars on the monument has a map showing the location of a trial. Taking note, Kass sings Link a song about the Champion Mipha's trials.
We regain control of Link after the scene (time 9:13). The main quest "EX Champion Mipha's Song" begins. Link must find and complete three trials in the Lanayru region. The maps on the monument and Kass's song provide hints.
To start, Link teleports to the Ke'nai Shakah Shrine at Ulria Grotto in the southeast of the Akkala region (time 10:25). He paraglides east from the shrine and uses an updraft to ascend to the highlands. He calls Silver and rides northeast to the campfire smoke that he sees.
Link finds a camp with two Zoras (time 12:07). Old Muzu has information about a trial that Mipha undertook a century ago.
To start, Link rests until morning at the Zoras' campfire (time 13:10). At dawn, he can see part of a ring at sea level far to the east. Link begins paragliding east past the towering barrier islands.
Link glides through the ring at water level (time 14:14). A shrine emerges from the water itself east of Ankel Island.
This is the Kee Dafunia Shrine (time 14:38). Link examines its pedestal to open the shrine and activate its travel gate.
Link enters the shrine (time 15:05). Kee Dafunia issues the trial The Melting Point. To start, Link drops a weapon so that he can grab a nearby Torch. He lights the Torch and uses it on an ice block barring the door to the north. He melts it until it is small enough to pick up and carry. He steps on a pressure plate to let down a couple more ice blocks.
After lighting the Torch again, he climbs up the partly melted ice block to the center platform. He begins melting the ice blocks along the second level of the platform. Around the back, he finds the entrance to a small room.
A chest in the small room contains a Frostblade (time 17:53). He has already photographed one, so he leaves it behind.
Link climbs to the top level of the center platform. After lighting his Torch again, he melts the block on the top level until it is small enough to pick up and carry. Link transports it past the low archway. At the far wall, he climbs onto the ice block and makes a Cryonis pillar under it. He can just reach the altar room afterwards.
Link examines Kee Dafunia's altar (time 19:59). He earns Ruta's Emblem #1. He must collect a total of three. This updates the objective for "EX Champion Mipha's Song". Link now has two trials remaining.
Link teleports to the Ne'ez Yohma Shrine in Zora's Domain (time 21:24). From the throne room, he begins paragliding north to the tall waterfalls north of town. After landing in the water, he uses his equipped Zora set to swim up the waterfalls to Upland Zorana.
Atop the second waterfall, Link talks to another Zora, Seggin (time 23:56). Aftr getting real for a moment, Seggin tells Link about the Guardians ahead. The younger Zora, Bazz, is justifiably concerned about the mechs.
Afterwards, Link shoots an Ancient Arrow and then photographs it for the Hyrule Compendium. This may help him find Ancient Arrows with the Sensor option.
