Ever since I saw TSAs run I noticed how he got out of Palace of Winds pre-entry room by warping out. Ever since the Ocarina glitch got discovered nearly 2 years ago (you see on this video) one Youtuber told me that he couldnt get out after completing the temple and he was using the European version, the same copy Ive got. So I did a little check and Ive found out that you CANNOT warp from the pre-entry room if played on the European version. So it seems that the US version of Minish Cap is one of the very few games in speed running that the newer versions/releases seems to be better to speed run.

The US version can also skip 2 important conversations that were intended (the Wind Tribes King dude and one of the members blocking the stairs to the rooftops). So overall the US version saves at least 40 seconds.
