Zortch is a boomer shooter clearly inspired by various games from the mid-90s.

I had played this demo once about a year ago, but upon noticing that Zortch 2 now has a demo as well, I figured I might as well refresh my memory.

Some of the architecture might feel a bit reminiscent of Quake 2, but the overall aesthetic and mechanics remind me of various N64-era FPS games including Turok. I have to figure the ambient OST was going a bit for the Aubrey Hodges angle.

The game is reasonably configurable, though its menus may be somewhat unorthodox in how they're structured, and sometimes downright confusing; e.g., key bindings are directly set, but mouse bindings are on a different screen and bound in the reverse direction (pick a button, then select the action to bind to it).

The game's store page does not pull any tricks; the game has consistently always been $5, never in any sales, which seems refreshingly honest - though at the same time that may seem counter-intuitive to folks who wait for Steam sales. It is also paired with a few other games in bundles.
