Youtubers take immense pains to create quality videos. And to even establish a wide fan base makes many of us break sweats. But it's all good news when we hit millions of subscribers and rake in multi-million views. When that happens, cool cash and fame become our backdrop! But there are cases when some YouTubers just had their big break and then they just quit. Find out why with the top 10 YouTubers that went missing from their multi-subscriber channels.

Number 10: RedkeyMon

Let’s start off this list with a Youtuber who showcased his love for games and Redkeymon was his name. As a master player, he made different stunts, online fails, and funny moments from popular games. Then, he would post them all on Youtube for his fans to like and drop comments. Fun he had with all he did while making tons of moolah with it. His first video posted in 2013 was on its own a very big hit with more than a million views. From then onwards, his momentum kept on rising like it was never going to fall. But then came 2015, after about 50 videos with an average of 10M views per session, Redkeymon decided to quit. Without notice, without goodbyes, he just left. This had many of his 265K followers worried with fake news of his death flying in the air. After 2 years in the dark, RedKeymon re-surfaced with a final goodbye that ended with this, “All I needed was a break. Month stacked up and it’s too late to change. I hate saying goodbye which is why I never did. Afterward, he’s never posted!

Number 9: Essena Oneil

What’s better than having the whole web of social media at your feet? For Essena Oneil, the answer to that was more connected with self-discovery. So, let’s share with you a bit of her story starting from 2015. That year she was just 19. But then, she had amassed almost a million followers on all social media platforms. From Facebook to Instagram, Snapchat to Tumblr and Youtube alike, Oneil made fame her second surname. Left, right, and center she became the hub of internet jealousy. Modeling jobs knocked on her door from every nook and corner. At some point in time, she even got much of the online community to raise funds for her website. But all of a sudden, she began to give it all up. She renamed all her captions, deleted all her social handles except Instagram and Youtube where she left videos and notes explaining why she had to leave. It turned out O'neil was faking the perfect life she pitched. She admitted everything was a lie. And she had to quit before it consumed her.

Number 8: Scarce

Sometimes, the name you give to something points to what its future holds. And it felt as if the Youtube channel named Scarce had it coming. First, let’s get something out of the way. The name “Scarce” could either describe something short in supply or rare like a gem. With that said, we can say the channel lived up to the two mirror images of its name. For one, it was once the largest Youtube news reporting channel with well over 3 million subscribers. It was very educational, filled with fun and many of its fans preached the testimony. Add to that, shout-outs from other channels and several daredevil boxing challenges attempted by Scarce’s admin named John had the channel on the popularity toll. But the demon side of its name won’t keep the channel stable. You see, John took many unnotified breaks from posting videos. He would suddenly disappear for several months without a trace. Sometimes in 2016, 2017, ‘18, ‘19, and even 2020, many of his fans thought him dead. Though he’s back to regular posting as we speak, he’d said little to explain his usual mysterious disappearances.

Number 7: Kevin Wu

Kevin Wu is an Asian-American teen that took to Youtube for friends in 2006. He was one of the very first stars on the then year-old platform. His first video came in 2007 and by the end of 2008, his channel ranked among the top3 most subscribed Youtube channels. Not long after, he also ranked among the first Youtubers ever to get an invite to star in a Hollywood movie. So, it was a clear thing to everyone that Kevin wasn’t among those channels juggling for their big breaks. With his everyman vibes, intuition, and his potential ability to hone the craft, Kevin Wu had the skill-set to become a huge star far beyond the realm of Youtube. Several brands paid him in 5-digits to feature in three-minutes videos. But in 2015, everything he worked for went down the rabbit hole when he got struck by a car in Los Angeles. After the terrible incident, he went off the video grid for years. But luckily, he survived after two major surgeries and he’s driving all his effort to re-acquire the life he once had.
