The 2020 Armin Strom Resonance Minute Repeater is a 47mm grade five titanium celebration of Armin Strom's first decade as a complete watch manufacture. The minute repeater, which has been achieved in collaboration with Le Cercle des Horlogeres, is a first for the brand.
The Armin Strom caliber AAR18 includes a 72-hour manual wind power reserve courtesy of two mainsprings in one barrel. The minute repeater achieves exceptional volume and sonic quality thanks to larger than standard gongs, a large resonator (case), and forceful strikers.
The Resonance system includes two independent escapements with freesprung balances oscillating at 25,200 vibrations per hour. Thanks to a coupling clutch spring, the balances self-regulate via transmitted resonance effects; when one runs slow, the other accelerates it, and vice versa.
The Armin Strom Resonance Minute Repeater will be produced in a limited edition of 10 pieces.
