2024 Ford F 150 Leading the Charge as America's Top Selling Pickup Truck
12Ford has significantly expanded the appeal of American trucks with its original F-Series and has continuously innovated by developing trucks with high-strength, aluminum-alloy bodies to enhance performance. The company has also taken a significant step forward by introducing the first full-size, light-duty electric truck.
Currently, Ford is launching an unprecedented range of trucks across the U.S., which is unlike anything the company has done before. Recently, Ford has rolled out new models of its Super Duty, F-150, and Ranger trucks. Since the previous spring, these models account for 90% of Ford's truck sales. The latest releases include the all-new Ranger and Ranger Raptor, the new F-150, the F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid, the F-150 Raptor, and the F-150 Lightning. In the first quarter alone, Ford assembled 144,000 of these new trucks.
Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue, stated, "The Ford truck lineup has never provided customers with such a wide range of options. We are releasing many new models simultaneously, a first for any automaker. Ford offers gas, hybrid, diesel, and electric full-size pickups, and our range includes everything from the compact Maverick to the robust Super Duty, with off-road versions of each model available."
The growing popularity of do-it-yourself projects and the emergence of compact, hybrid, and electric pickups indicate a rising demand for trucks in the U.S. Last year, the truck industry saw a sales increase of 4.5%. With the introduction of these new models, sales are expected to rise further. Models like the Maverick and Super Duty are particularly popular.
The Maverick, which is the leading hybrid truck in America, brings the robustness synonymous with Ford into urban areas. The Super Duty model continues to lead in vital heavy-duty sectors such as construction and utility services, which are expanding along with the American economy.
Ford builds more vehicles in the U.S. than any other car manufacturer and employs the highest number of UAW-represented hourly workers. Over half of these employees work on the F-150 or Ranger. A new truck is produced by Ford in the U.S. every 33 seconds.
