The Alfa Romeo 4C stopped being made in 2020, but the company Stellantis is still introducing new vehicles that use its carbon-fiber frame. The most recent example is the Abarth Classiche 1300 OT. This car is a tribute to the Fiat Abarth OT 1300, a race car from the 1960s.

This new car was created by Stellantis' official heritage division under the "Reloaded by Creators" program. This initiative focuses on restoring classic cars and occasionally creating limited editions like the Abarth Classiche 1300 OT. Unlike custom orders, these projects are initiated by the staff at Stellantis.

One similar project was the Fiat Abarth 1000 SP, launched in 2021, which also utilized the 4C's chassis and shares many design elements with the Abarth Classiche 1300 OT. Both cars were produced in very limited quantities, with only five units made.

The Abarth Classiche 1300 OT differs from the Fiat Abarth 1000 SP by adopting a coupe body style instead of a roadster. It features a small roof scoop, reminiscent of the original OT 1300's scoop designed to cool the interior. Additionally, it includes a slotted plexiglass rear window and a large rear grille adorned with the "Abarth" name.

The base mechanics of the 4C have not been altered for this model. It has a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower, powering the rear wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The original OT 1300 had its engine—a 1.3-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower—mounted behind the rear wheels, similar to the Fiat 850's setup. According to Abarth, this design was particularly favored by the company's founder, Carlo Abarth.

The OT 1300 started being produced in 1965 and was officially recognized for FIA Group 4 races a year later, once the required minimum of 50 cars was built. Before official approval, it had already competed in various prototype racing classes. Notably, in early 1966, three OT 1300s achieved a remarkable victory at a 1,000-kilometer race in Monza, Italy, finishing first, second, and third. This model continued to succeed in races into the 1970s, solidifying Abarth's status as a respected race car manufacturer.
