3 Gaming Predictions For Sony & Nintendo in 2024!
123As we kick off 2024, there are a lot of different possibilities the world of video games, and we have had more than a few different things we've been waiting for. What will we see in 2024 from Nintendo and Sony? Let's take a look at 3 gaming predictions for both Nintendo & Sony and what I think we will see in 2024.
Number 3:
We WILL see new Nintendo Hardware
The Nintendo Switch 2, Switch Pro, or Super Switch, whatever it'll be called, is coming in 2024. Not only are there tons of more rumors heating up, but Nintendo is also due to release new hardware. When you think of it, this is almost the longest Nintendo has gone between hardware updates. From the NES to the SNES was only 4 years, and from the SNES to N64 was 6 years. 2024 marks the Switch's 7th year, and that is a lifetime in gaming.
Number 2:
We will NOT see a Playstation 5 Pro
Sony is finally meeting demand for the PS5 with the new PS5 Slim, or not so Slim, and the idea to this console is to make it easier for them to meet demand. Why would they want to complicate their product offering with a new model when they have been consolidating? Also, the games are barely pushing the limits of the existing hardware, is there a need for more powerful hardware at this time? I'd like to see it, but I don't think we will.
Number 1:
Metroid Prime 4 Will Not Only Come Out, but will be a NEW Switch Launch Title
The Wii and the Switch both launched with Zelda Titles, the NES, SNES launched with Mario Titles, but no system has ever launched with a Metroid Game. Until Now. The fact that we've been promised this game for so long and have had no updates for years just makes me think it is due. And it makes sense to push the boundaries on new hardware too. This could be an amazing 1-2 punch with a new system and a highly anticipated game finally being released.
