So many people get me video game systems for the holidays, and the Nintendo Switch is still amazingly popular. It's common for people to get games like Mario Odyssey, Zelda, Mario Kart, and Pokemon for their systems, but what if you're looking for something a little different? Well, there are so many great titles but here are 3 Great Non-Mainline Games For New Nintendo Switch Owners I highly recommend.

Number 3
C.A.R.L.
Developed by @Nintendrew and available now digitally (coming out in 2024 physically from Premium Edition Games), C.A.R.L is a terrific retro-inspired puzzle platformer. It's so much fun to play, and something that has a ton of replay value.

Number 2:
Tanuki Justice
If you're a fan of early Sega Master System games like Wonder Boy, Shinobi, and Alex Kidd you'll love this! It's definitely challenging but also very fair. This it one I definitely consider must-own.

Number 1:
Yooka Laylee & The Impossible Lair
Many of the original developers from Donkey Kong Country are together again for this amazing title. Where the original Yooka Laylee feels like Banjo Kazooie with it's 3D approach, Impossible Lair takes a 2D approach. This is a great spiritual successor with amazing music, graphics, and gameplay.
