3 More Questionable Uses of the Konami Code - Retrogaming Easter Eggs #shorts
1,641I'm bringing you another cool YouTube short about the Konami Code, and this time it's gonna be weird, kind of!
In Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf, there's a hidden Easter Egg that allows you to play a miniature version of Fantasy Zone, which is a "cute 'em up" game for the Sega Master System and arcade. First, you need to miss 100 shots, which I did on the first hole of the tournament mode. After missing 100 times, you will be taken to the Game Over screen, where you can enter the Konami Code - Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A (actually I think you don't have to enter the B button, but I digress). This will grant you access to a miniature version of Fantasy Zone with just one level which you can play until you turn off the game!
In North and South for the NES, which is a pretty cool strategy game by Kemco and Infogrames, wait for the credits information to scroll by, then enter the Konami Code, and this will bring you to one of the coolest sound tests I've ever seen.
Neither Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf nor North and South were made by Konami, which is kinda neat if you think about it.
Lastly, in Pop'n TwinBee for the SNES - which is another "cute 'em up" and was actually made by Konami - if you pause the game and enter the Konami Code, your ship will crash. Neat!
Alternatively, if you pause the game and enter Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A, B, A then unpause, you will be granted 9 chibi, which are basically your screen-clearing bombs.
