3.16 - Ignite Elementalist - A10 Pts+Lab - 3h55m15s
Deathless A10 All Points and Story Labs run using Ignite with Rolling Magma/Wave of Conviction as the delivery mechanism in 3h55m15s. Flame surge and flame wall/scorching ray totems were used as supplemental DPS. This run was done at a more relaxed pace that my previous couple runs as I wanted to simulate more of the pace that I would use on league start. I find that if I try and push super hard to get a 3h15 or below A10 Pts+Lab afterwards I’m pretty mentally fried and my performance in maps and ability to have a long play session in maps declines steeply. Conversely, by slowing down a bit more and taking a more relaxed pacing approach, I find that I’m able to have longer and better early map push. As a result of the more relaxed pace, I also wanted to have better end of run XP than prior runs. To that end, I took a bit of different pathing option in A8 to avoid any XP penalty issues, which seemed to help make the XP smoother at the cost of some extra loads/minor back tracking.
The purpose of this run was to try and go ignite based as soon as possible. As a result, I started trying to use ignite from Level 1 with rolling magma and ele prolif. It will be faster to not go full ignite right off the bad and have an onslaught setup by muling a scion. If I did so, the run probably would have been about 7-10m faster through part 1. I find rolling magma to be the most convenient early ignite skill to use. Also I highly appreciate how well rolling magma clears and XPs as that also helped ensure my XP curve was really good for most of the run. I should have switched off of rolling magma into WoC exclusively by second lab at latest. Upon doing so, I could have extra links to get a juiced flame wall rolling for some extra supplemental DPS. Overall, I was really pleased with how the build performed as ignite has a reliable DPS level that handles campaign well, but I am still not quite sure on when the best time to swap to various things are as there was a fair amount of experimentation with stuff on fly in A6 and A7.

Some questions and answers:
Why no onslaught mule? Wanted to run pure ignite as soon as possible and using onslaught doesn't necessarily sync up with that goal.
Why no armageddon brand? Because of the upcoming changes to armageddon brand wanted to speed level story without relying on it in case activation time change makes it feel bad. Additionally, I've done a ton of arma brand runs and I know it works very well already, part of the purpose of this run is to experiment with a different setups and something that may allign more with what I eventually wanted to play if I kept the run going.
Why rolling magma and WoC? I wanted to use onslaught in part 2 and thought I might be able to do so with rolling magma as the clear skill while WoC was for single target. In end, I stopped being able to proc onslaught with rolling magma around A8. At that point, probably better to just swap to using WoC as both clear and single. In a prior test run I did I found WoC to be a little lacking on clear, so I was trying to have both working at same time in build, but I think its better to just transition from one to the other entirely when ready.
Why spiritual command? 3 point detour to get fair amount of attack speed for quality of life with shield charge once the swap is made. Also allows access to a lot more attack speed if eventually you take spiritual aid as a source of some increased damage and travel ability via shield charge.
Why faith and steel? My resistances sucked, easy access to a little extra to cap. Could have geared better with my essences to avoid problem. Would not have taken in a situation where my resistances were better.
Why lightning walker? Crappy lightning res with no way to fix on other gear pieces at time I took. Some extra cast speed for WoC. Decent 1 pointer.
Why no reservation mastery once you got to reservation notable? Wouldn't have changed my ability to run another buff/aura that I wanted for setup as mana would been an issue still without investment into Determination mastery to improve its mana efficiency. Would have invested into this point as one of the next few if I continued to maps.
Why bastion of elements? On league start style runs, I prefer to take defense as my 3rd ascendancy if I've taken offense as my first two. Heart of Destruction would have worked very well here as well
Why shaper of flames first? Didn't want to worry about ignite chance at all. Although it would have been easy to cap on tree and instead go Mastermind first. Moreover, I was not sure if I wanted to go with WoC as the ignite mechanism super early yet, doing shaper of flames allowed me to have flexibility in that decision.
