Needing a lockpick to enter a locked door in his old home, Petrovitch confronts the man he saw earlier that cracked his way into a storage unit. In exchange for a lockpick, the mystery man requires two batteries to add to his collection. It's quickly realized that not just any battery will do. They need to be white batteries. And they're scattered in random locations around the old city. Time to retrace our steps. In a creepy turn of events, a room full of mannequins may contain one of the required batteries.
Upon unlocking the door, Petrovitch really feels a sense of home as he rummages through his old living room. There, he also finds a set a keys to his daughter's room. Inside, a photo album brings back haunting memories of a car crash caused by a drunk driver that happened some years prior. The game's ending is bittersweet, no doubt leaving some questions open to interpretation.

About the Game & Story:
35MM is a post-apocalyptic game for the PC about two Russian travelers who set out on a long journey in the wasteland, left by people after the global epidemic. Most of the world's population has been wiped out, leaving the infrastructure decrepit and void of life. The humans lucky enough to be alive cling onto the little scraps leftovers for survival. Food cans and health kits are few and far between. But clever exploration can yield successful results.
The gameplay of 35MM consists primarily of walking through different environments in search of clues and answers. The lead character, Petrovitch, is equipped with a 35MM camera which can be used to take photos of anything in the game. Will those 35MM photos serve any purpose to the main story? At times, it may be necessary to consult a game guide or walkthrough in the event you get lost. Though I can only hope that my gameplay of 35MM assists players in their own playthrough.
The 35MM game is on PC, playable with mouse and keyboard. Usually I prefer to play games with controller support. But I couldn't resist the appeal of this game. Plenty of 35MM game achievements are ready to be unlocked, with 20 achievements in total.
35MM reviews are 'Mostly Positive' on Steam after being released in May of 2016. I, myself, concur with these reviews as it is a fun, tense, and often times downright scary game. And at a price of less than $9 on Steam for PC, you can't go wrong! My overall 35MM review is positive and I commend the developers of the game for creating such an intriguing atmosphere and eerie soundtrack. When the story concludes, you'll feel as if you've traveled so far and overcome both internal and external obstacles.
Achievements unlocked in my full 35MM gameplay:
- What Happened? (Listen the airwaves in the hospital)
- Faith in God Will Help Us (Light a candles in an abandoned church)
- Friend (Give your partner a first aid kit)
- What The Numbers Mean (Listen to the radio signal in tunnels)
- I hate mannequins (Find a room with mannequins in city)
- The Past Is Always With Us (Reach the finals [spoilers removed])
Fun Fact: A special Halloween update of 35MM was released in October 2016 in which three lit pumpkin lamps were hidden in the game. The first three people who found them and sent screenshots to developers were awarded with cash prizes or their choice of steam game! Pretty cool!
The 35MM game discussions remain active on Steam boards for any one who requires further assistance. Additionally, multiple websites provide a written walkthrough of the game, through I was unable to find a 35MM game wiki / wikipedia page.
The game includes subtitles for English and Russian languages. Character dialogue is available in Russian only.
