LORNE'S LURE by Rubeki is an atmospheric game with an awe-inspiring size. A robot climbs, grapples, and platforms across a truly massive stucture, following something he saw and always in danger of plummetting untold distances to his death. A fun challenge to play, very fast and hard to put down.
AN OUTCRY by Quinn K is a dark and dreary dystopian RPG with an in-depth story that's set in Austria. We play The Unnamed, locked out of their apartment, poor, and always in need of a smoke. This one has an interesting tone! We have to deal with exceedingly unplesant neighbors as well as our kooky poet friend. Then we find a bird, and the weirdness only grows . . .
TOREE 3D by Siactro is a bright and cheery 3D platformer that makes me think of N64 ames more than Ps1 (chat notes stylistic similarities to Kirby in particular). A poor little rooftop-hopping duck has his ice cream stolen by a weird grim reaper figure who can distort reality, and the chase is on! Even the stars look happy and friendly. For now.
Three very different games, each of them entertaining. Some of them kind of stretch the definition of horror, but we learn from someone in chat that the Haunted Ps1 Demos canonically do not all have to be horror! The disc is haunted, but that doesn't mean it can only generate horror. It's neat to hear from people who know so much about the project and can explain tidbits about the full versions of the games and the developers. I run with a creative take on how two of the games could have a crossover. And plummet to my death a lot.
