I must have grown up with horror movies on VHS tapes (and still collect them). In VHS SLAUGHTER by CapCrowGames, we work the late shirt at a video rental store. Soon we have more than chatty or pushy customers to worry about. There's apparently a serial killer at work int he town, and someone begins leaving us homemade VHS tapes. Cool setup and some good use of audio in those tapes, though I wish the ending had been a little more substantial.
TEKE TEKE MOONLIT DREAD by Med is based on a creepy Japanese urban legend. Of a half of a woman. Who moves very fast. And kills violently. It takes a few times, but we get the good ending. Check out me trying to rob the store because the darn cashier is in the back staring at a box and I can't find the next item I need.
Because we got a couple of raids, I try out one more game: CROWDED. FOLLOWED by ferryliquid. This one has a unique concept to generate fear and plays like the proof of concept for a longer game. A homeless man finds himself charged with keeping a briefcase safe, and he has to scavenge for change to buy a subway ticket. But something else wants that case. Something tall and relentless and accompanied by discordant ukuleles. I had fun with this (the developer's first game!).
