Tip 1: Stop comparing against other people's times. This is not entirely useless, but often leads to more mental fatigue then it helps alleviate.
Tip 2: Stop looking at other stuff during runs. Social media, your phone, your kitty cat, you name it, it has to go. Keep distractions at absolute minimum.
Tip 3: Stop practicing small sections. Practicing small sections of games tends to be a form of procrastination for actually doing runs or practicing larger bits of a game in context. Opt for full speedruns instead.
Tip 4: Stop quitting speedruns midway. There are far too many runs that die prematurely simply at hand of runner deciding to reset out of temporary frustration. A lot of these speedruns could still go somewhere if the runner would just push through the current difficulty to the end. Play runs out.
Tip 5: Stop raging. This really helps nothing. Short of some burst of motivation to get you to practice or do more resets, raging and a negative attitude tends to only decrease level of play.
