Some single play with Mai Shiranui in The King of Fighters 2000 on a consolized NEOGEO.

I'd just played Single Play with her in NEOGEO MODE of KOF '98 Ultimate Match on PS4, on level 8 difficulty, and much to my surprise had reached the boss on the first try--mostly by spamming her qcb+p firey spin move.

I'd never had *that* much luck with her in 2000, that I'd noticed, but I thought I'd try replicating my '98 Mai success in 2000, so here we are! After a rough start (I don't think I faced Terry in '98 : P)...I kind of get into the fire-spinny groove. It's not quite like '98, where I had matches the whole way up to the boss where I could just kind of corner and flame-spam the opponent to a cinder; I don't know if that means 2000's AI is harder, or Mai isn't as strong here, or eh probably most likely I just got lucky in '98. (She is missing her "uppercut" motion move here in 2000, although I dunno if that would make such a dramatic difference on its own.)
