Tier lists for final fantasy pvp?
Yup.
As always this comes with the disclaimer of play what you want to play and don’t feel like you need to do anything you don’t want to. Doing this type of video is bound to get comments of a very spicy nature, but between my own personal experiences getting to almost-diamond and talking to many friends of mine there is a pretty clear difference in power right now between the jobs.
Bring in the new meta! It’s time to talk about who are the winners and who are the losers in the newly released patch 6.11!
Patch 6.11 brought a ton of changes around pvp and that means it’s time for me to redo my tier list, of course this is many days since the patch was released because I wanted to really test and get down with the different jobs and see exactly how they worked.
So let’s start off with the busted broken super OP tier.
Starting off with white mage. Now people may have thought that the nerf to white mage’s ultimate and it’s afflatus misery was enough and I can absolutely say that these nerfs have changed absolutely nothing. White mage’s ultimate still recharges insanely fast and does so much. 1 second less on the stun sounds good on paper but in practice doesn’t stop the utter curbstomping of people. Undeniably still strong.
Next up should come as no surprise. Warrior still is insanely strong and like before paired up with a white mage is intensely problematic. 15 second AOE stun gapcloser, being able to break enemy guard, being able to CC and drag enemies to them-- yeah the warrior isn’t dropping from this tier.
Next up is S tier which are some of the strongest picks you can make while not utterly shattering the game.
First up is dragoon that simply hasn’t changed from before. It brings an ultimate that can wipe a payload clean, a ton of damage baseline without it’s ultimate, it’s very sticky on targets and can eat an extreme amount of punishment with it’s mitigations. It’s very hard to go wrong picking dragoon currently, so much so it’s inching into the Ultra Ridiculously Broken tier in my personal opinion.
Next up is Samurai who did get some nerfs to their survivability as well as a minor stun time decrease, this opened them up to be punished where before they were also stupidly durable. Samurai remains exceptionally strong and their limit break during overtime remains the most sure fire way to decimate the enemy team and force a win.
Ninja actually didn’t get nerfs but instead a quality of life improvement, so Ninja played properly is easily still in S tier.
Now we’re in A tier which are solid picks but not necessarily gamebreaking.
Redmage is leading the pack here in spite of minor nerfs, the most significant of which is the 1 second less duration of silence down from 3 to 2 seconds. Regardless this silence is extremely available and alongside warrior and white mage can lock down an entire team for in my opinion far too long when timed properly. Remember when people were telling me to put it in C tier? Hell naw, I knew that wasn’t right. Still isn’t right!
Next up is bard that somehow got buffs, it was already really good and I did a video focused on bard on this channel. Bard to be quite frank is obscenely great right now, especially when you’re on a team with jobs that have broken limit breaks like see anything in S tier or above. Personal damage is horrendous, but the utility is beyond any doubt strong as it gets.
Machinist actually got buffs to it’s shield utility for the team as well as minor damage in AOE. It was already a solid pick for it’s ability to force a 5v4 by unloading everything onto a white mage as a priority target that can secure a teamfight-- unless your team is really really bad that is. The buffs aren’t helping this goal, but make machinist offer a bit more elsewhere.
Next up is Scholar, and this is a solid increase from last tier list. Scholar desperately needed it’s catalyze damage bonus as well as it’s biolysis damage reduction for enemies to have it’s timings matched up to 15 seconds. Now with that, the Scholar feels lot it offers a lot.
