I rather like the concepts in here: customizing pieces that will eventually form your minion, so that you can make some very unique abominations for certain circumstances. Feels like it's lacking enough content to really show itself off, though. Of course, I didn't get to use gems or anything, but even the matter of having different body parts give "different" stats, rather than better or worse ones, doesn't appear to be wholly looked into. It'd also be nice to at least carry surviving minions' parts with you to the next level, otherwise you're forced to scavenge pretty thoroughly each level.
But I really do like the idea! It just needs some polishing.
