9 Lives is one of those titles that I got in a multipack, of which you always know that there is going to be one or two stinkers in the set - this being one of them. It's a platformer involving a cat who has to rescue his feline friends who are locked away in cages. You essentially have to find the keys and cats scattered around the level whilst avoiding the enemies.

I will admit that the visuals are very nice with some good animation, its main problem comes from the controls. Jumping is a problem. You can't just jump like you do with Mario. Instead you have to hold down the joystick, the longer you keep it down, the higher and longer the jump is, and once the cat does leap, you have absolutely no control over the direction. More often than not you will die over and over again trying to avoid that spike trap blocking your path because you cannot get the exact leap amount that you need.

I can't stand playing this game and I really don't recommend it to anyone.
